Animated Logo with Transparency
Create animated logos with transparency in your video editing software and upload them to CASTUS QuickRoll or QuickStream for use as Overlays, Global Media items, or within CASTUS Cuts projects—enhancing your branding with seamless, professional visuals.
Elevate your branding by creating animated logos with transparency and uploading them to your CASTUS QuickRoll or QuickStream for use as an Overlay, Global Media Item, or within a CASTUS Cuts Project.
Use your video editing software to animate your logo on a transparent background, with no video layer behind it. Position and size the logo as needed for your intended use—adjustments can be made directly in CASTUS for Global Media items or within a CASTUS Cuts project. When exporting, select a video format and codec that supports transparency or alpha channels, such as .mov.
Export settings will vary by editing software, but the essential requirement is to produce a video file that includes both the visual content and an alpha channel for transparency.
Exporting in Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Media Encoder
- Select "QuickTime" as the video format.
- Set the codec to "Animation."
- In Basic Video Settings, choose "8-bpc + alpha" to ensure the export includes an alpha channel for transparency.
Exporting in Final Cut Pro X
- Select “Share” in the upper right and select “Export File.”
- In the Settings menu, set the codec to “Apple ProRes 4444.”
- Click “Next” to choose your save location.
Engaging Your Graphic
- Upload your new graphic to CASTUS.
- Set as a Global Media item, in a CASTUS Cuts Project, or as an Overlay in your schedule.
TIPS: It may look like there is black video under your logo; you can test to see the transparency by temporarily putting video underneath your logo to see where you have transparency (don’t forget to delete that video before exporting!)
Overlays and Global Media Items are designed to loop, so factor some “blank” time before or after your logo if you want it to come on and off at a specific interval. In Premiere Pro, you can right click in your Project window and choose “New Item” > “Transparent Video” and add that to your project where you want blank space without your logo.
Start with a .png of your logo if you have one, which can preserve transparency in an image file.
