RMTP on a Local Network

Decode an RTMP signal on the CASTUS via your local network.

SETTING UP THE CASTUS INPUT

  1. Navigate to CASTUS > Services > Inputs.
  2. Rename your desired input so it does not have any spaces or special characters, including dashes, in your CASTUS inputs list. This name will later become the "key" for your encoder.
  3. Open the Settings for the input.
  4. For the Interface to Capture From, choose RMTP.
    RMTPLocal_RTMP
  5. Set the URL Source using the following syntax:
    rtmp://LOCAL_CASTUS_IP:1935/castus-live/NAME_OF_INPUT
    RTMPLocal_URL

  6. Apply your settings.

SETTING UP THE ENCODER

  1. Navigate to your encoder's stream settings.
  2. If using a URL and Key, enter the following: 
    URL - rtmp://LOCAL_CASTUS_IP/castus-live
    Key - NAME_OF_INPUT
  3. If using a single line, enter the following:
    rtmp://LOCAL_CASTUS_IP/castus-live/NAME_OF_INPUT
